I get asked to pour wines at a lot of events. Some are for charity, others are for other things and such. This past weekend, I ended up being double booked missed an event that my wine was featured at, Mostly Merlot. Lucky for me, I had some outstanding stand-ins who represented the winery well. The downside, I caught up with one of those good people who stood in and learned about what an incredible event I missed. Mostly Merlot is an incredible event! The whole affair, from the wine reception, to the auction, to the dinner sounded like one of the social events of the year.
Look for this event next year. And in the mean time, do not forget the great cause this event supports, Spokane Cancer Patient Care. Last month, Cliff Evans, the executive director took me on a tour of their facilities and showed me what type of services they offer. The fact a group is there to support people and their loved ones through the toughest part of their lives is remarkable. Simple items, like a wig, a walker or a case on Ensure, along with a kind ear is enough to brighten up someone's darkest day.

Thanks for the info, I will need to plan a trip to Spokane next year. Kind of on topic, I just wanted to let you know that as a patron of some of these wine events, I really enjoyed Whitestone, both the wine and the conversation. I was at the event at compass wines in Anacortes and I just wish I could have bought more of the cab because I am now out of it. My wife and I are hoping to stop by Wilbur this summer and visit.
