Drunk Bears

One of the by-products of the winemaking process are the pressings. These little packets of joy are nutrient rich, which I dump behind the vineyard for the animals to come and eat. One of the more comical thoughts about this practice is that the pressings are full of alcohol. Nothing enlivens the work day like watching deer get drunk. At a recent tasting event, I described this practice to a group of Seattlites. A lady in the group got angry with me and said "How could you just stand there and watch as a bear got drunk?" To which I replied "Miss, ever try and cut a bear off before he has had to many?"

It is funny until one of those bears gets behind the wheel of a car. Then it's hilarious.
